Wild Weather

Today has to have been the wierdest weather ever. It started extremely hot, humid and muggy. That quickly changed though as the day was dominated by a series of intense, 30 min. thunder showers. Of course, I got caught right in the middle of two of them. Once while running (actually refreshing), and once while walking to campus (not refreshing).

Never a Dull Moment

This afternoon on the way home from Campus I was assaulted by a group of militant, urban environmentally friendly street toughs. As I left the U, a couple of them approached me, and asked if I could spare a few minutes for the environment. When I told them no, they got hostile, and asked how I can dare disrespect them and the environment.

Thankfully, nothing further ensued as I continued leisurely on my way.

A Saturday Night with Fred and Big Ed

Fred was just happy to be there. Posted by Hello

Big Ed really enjoyed his Blueberry Pie.  Posted by Hello

On the drive home, Big Ed called from Dennys, and said we should come on over and join the party.  Posted by Hello

After Spot we took a walk down Elmwood. This is the Unitarian Church. Funny though, I just can't see anything there. :) Posted by Hello

My first weekend in Buffalo, I went with Fred to the Spot on Elmwood following a dinner at Panos. Here Fred reads his Beast accompanied by a foo-foo drink (Foo Foo drinks are caffinated drinks with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. Posted by Hello

Since rennovating their I90 rest stops, Ohio's are far and away the best. They even have Wifi. Posted by Hello

It was bound to happen sooner or later, Canada has relocated its capital city to rural Illinois. Posted by Hello

Of course Coffee from Dunkin' Donuts is a prerequisite for any road trip. Posted by Hello

On the way home, I saw a billboard for Jubilee in rural Wisconsin. Who would've known. . .  Posted by Hello

Misc. Minneapolis pics

Here are some pics from the days preceeding my departure from Buffalo. I got bored on a Sunday, and just went walking with my camera. Ultimately I ended up at Espresso 21 in Dinkytown, and finished the Icelandic epic The Saga of the Volsungs. Enjoy, more to follow. . .

They're always doing work on the campus. I think this is for the buildings they're rennovating across the street on the E. Bank. Posted by Hello

The first of many pics. This is the Minneapolis skyline from Dinkytown. I took this during a walk a couple days before leaving for Buffalo. Posted by Hello

Back in MN

So, last night I arrived back in Minneapolis at approx. 8:30 pm. This after beginning my day back in Elkhart, IN and fighting brutal Chicago traffic for 2 hours. I experimented with timing, to see if I could make better time cutting through Chicago on a Saturday afternoon. That was dumb. . .

In any event, I have a ton of pictures from the past couple weeks, and beginning this afternoon, I will work on posting them.

Jam Session

So, I'm blogging during a C&G jam session in the basement of Mixmaster J's house. It is quite a sight. Joe is wailing away on the guitar, and Fred is standing in front of the mic playing a small little casio keyboard in the palm of his hand. In otherwords, I just got overcharged massively for a Chicken Souvlaki Breakfast at Tom's Restaurant. It was excellent though, so perhaps I'll let it slide...

Having Fun with Fabulous Freddie

Last night I went out with Fred for a night of fun. Initially we planned only on getting pizza at Wegmans, and then going to see Cinderella Man at the Movies. Therefore, I did not bring my camera with me to document it. Boy was that a mistake! Wegmans had already closed up the pizza section by the time we arrived, so we decided to trek across the street to the food court at the Boulevard Mall. I had Subway, Fred had Charlie's subs. I clearly got the better deal. After dinner we needed to kill time, so we headed to Adventureland Golf (nee Putt Putt) so Fred could get mini-Golf out of his system. It was a very homosexual round of golf. :) Although I made a run at the end, I was thorougly trounced by Freddie, who was invited back for a tournament on Tuesday. I think this means we will return to putt putt this weekend so Fred can continue practicing. After Golf, Fred and I killed another hour at Barnes And Noble until Joe told us he would be MIA for the night, at which time we went to visit the one and only Woobie at the theater. I got to see the projector room! Of course the night ended with a trip to Dennys and several cups of coffee. There you have it, my night with Fred. I should have brought my camera.

noch ein deutsches Woerterbuch

Tonight I went to Barnes & Noble to purchase another German dictionary. While home, I want to do a little research for my masters thesis, but being every so forward thinking, I left my dictionary at home. I believe this makes dictionary six or seven. This time I went with the "Larousse" edition. My personal favorite is the Harper Collins unabridged German Dictionary, but those are also the most expensive. In comparison to the Oxford dictionary (also in the same price range), the Larousse has 30,000 more entries, and only cost $1.00 more. I am confident I will be extremely satisfied with this purchase, and that it will make an excellent addition to my dictionary collection.

Hangin' with Mix Master J

Right now I am hanging out with Joe. We were watching Arrested Development (the greatest show ever) on DVD, when Fabulous Freddie called. They've been talking for about 10 min. now, so I decided to blog while they discuss future recording plans.

In any event, I went into the studio earlier tonight, and launched my music career. I recorded my vocals for the chorus of future #1 hit single Boot Up, Suit Up, Scoot Up. Keep your eyes open. It will be a barn burner!
