Jeffrey Goldberg expounds upon why Emmanuel may be an excellent choice as far as Israel is concerned. This is a problem I believe the US needs to address soberly and realistically. The Israel/Palestine question is not, as some Evangelicals will contend, a step on the way to the rapture.
