Why I find Palin disturbing

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=79276

This is the kind of thinking that she represents. Its nothing more than people shamelessly manipulating religion in the name of a political agenda. Disgusting.

Given the horrible events of Monday, I thought this would be appreciated.

The GOP's Assault on Learning

http://www.slate.com/id/2203120/

Although I have my issues with Christopher Hitchens, I think he makes a couple sound points at the end about the potential direction the GOP is headed.

Part II

More McCain Rally nonsense

Ugh...

Seriously...

This is exactly what I want: James Dobson calling the shots for a GOP led administration. Seriously, how can republicans still preach small government and less-invasive government with a straight face?! This is a joke. The republican party will not be able to survive if the only groups left in the tent are ditto heads and religious conservatives.

Dumb and Dumber Pt. 3?

Click the link. I know it's mean, but right now I don't care. I've made no secret of the fact I despise Palin.

Yikes!

I really find this kind of reasoning frightening.

Jon's pissed

I'm trying to embed the video of Jon Stewart's devastating look at Wasilla on last night's show. If it doesn't come through though, click the link to Andrew Sullivan's blog. You can find it there.

Confronting Hatred

This is reassuring to see.

Bird-Brained Idea?

Just one of numerous reasons why I love this team. I have a feeling big things are in store this year.

Coates on the McCain Strategy

http://ta-nehisicoates.theatlantic.com/archives/2008/10/do_it_rick.php

Ta-Nehisi Coates gives voice to what I think a lot of others are thinking. What McCain is doing is not republicanism, it is not conservatism, it is disgusting.

Conservative = Fascist?

On 17. October 2008, conservative talk show host Lars Larson appeared on the Larry King Live show to provide conservative analysis of the Presidential debate this past Wednesday. He argued that because of his economic policies, Barack Obama is a Marxist.

When Larry King confronted Larson on this accusation, and asked if that meant all Republicans can be considered fascists, Larson said absolutely not! Conservatism in America, he explained, celebrates the individual, while fascism celebrates the country.

Unable to resist, I send Larson the following email:

Mr. Larson,

On your October 17 appearance on Larry King Live, Mr. King asked you if
the right could be defined as fascist because you labeled the left as
Marxist. In response, you argued that conservatism in America could not
be equated to fascism because American conservatism celebrates the
individual, while fascism celebrates the country.

The slogan of the McCain campaign is "Country First." Does this mean
you are equating the McCain/Palin campaign with fascism?
